Trident Racing has revealed that Pastor Maldonado (right) will miss next week's race(s) at Istanbul, and possibly the Monza round, having sustained an injury. It's understood the Venezuelan driver was injured during his regular training program, breaking one of his collarbones when falling from his bicycle.

"This is a compound fracture" said Dr. Ceccarelli, who treated Maldonado, "that was also analyzed by Dr. Vito Maiolino, who ruled out surgery. Pastor's arm was fitted with an elastic bandage but, since this phase is very painful, we'll need at least 20 days to know when he'll be able to get back on-track. The recovery, which is variable from person to person, will be monitored each week with x-rays, in order that we have a global picture".

Trident Racing will announce Maldonado's replacement in the coming days.
