Picho Toledano, who participated in the pre-season testing for A1 Team Mexico expecting to join the Mexican Junior Team, had an accident at the Ponce circuit, in Puerto Rico, last week.

Consequently, A1 Team Mexico wishes him a speedy recovery and has revealed that it will dedicate its participation in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport in Malaysia this weekend to him.

"Picho is currently in Indianapolis and he underwent two operations. Last Wednesday was the first one due to he fractured his right foot, and on Friday it was the second surgery on his left leg. A1 Team Mexico and Michel Jourdain Jr. dedicate their performance this weekend to him. In addition, the car will sport a decal supporting this great young up-and-coming Mexican driver," Julio Jauregui, Executive Vice President of A1 Team Mexico said.

"Also, we thank your donations for the surgeries to Banamex Bank account 14097, branch 755, under Guadalupe Toledano Perez name," he added.

Jauregui also talked about this weekend's event: "Time flies quickly, we are already in the third season and this Sunday will be our 50th A1 GP race. The championship is better than ever and with the coming of Ferrari cars developed by Michael Schumacher in 2008, I feel very pleased with the development of the series. No doubt I feel very proud to participate in this international series with A1 Team Mexico."

Regarding Jourdain Jr. he added: "I think Michel's prior experience in formulas was the key to adapt himself quickly to the A1 car in Czech Republic and we hope that in Malaysia he will collect his first points representing Mexico, having in his thoughts his fellow countryman Picho Toledano."
