Super Nova Racing has a short distance to travel this weekend to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the birthplace of the Formula 1 World Championship and the team's home race. The circuit is steeped in motorsport history, including some exhilarating GP2 races over the past four years.

The 5.141 km circuit is situated with half the track in Northamptonshire and half in Buckinghamshire. It is built on the site of a World War II bomber base, RAF Silverstone, which opened in 1943. The blend of high and slow speed corners, connected by three long straights, creates an uncompromisingly fast circuit, one that requires a delicately balanced set-up to cope with the high speed directional changes

Super Nova Racing had a disappointing showing in last year's event. This year, however, the drivers will both be aiming at the top step of the podium. Following a pair of 2nd place finishes at the previous event in Turkey, one each for Luca and Javi, the team move to Silverstone in a buoyant mood.

Javier Villa: "I'm feeling very confident after the last race in Turkey. We have got lots of very useful information which we can use for on car and new tyres, which is brilliant for our preparation. I've not had the best of races at Silverstone before, but this will change this weekend hopefully! The biggest hurdle will be qualifying. I really want to qualify in the first 3 rows at least, and aim to get as many points as possible. The season is long, but every point counts!"

Luca Filippi: "Silverstone is one of the best, most historic tracks on the calendar, England, and of course Italy, being rich in motor sport history! I raced at the circuit with Super Nova back in 2007 and qualified 5th in race one. This year I am determined to qualify higher and fight hard for a home win for the team!"

David Sears - Team principal: "We are really looking forward to Silverstone this weekend. With two second place finishes in Istanbul, the team believe our drivers Luca Filippi and Javier Villa are up for one better result this weekend! The drivers have arrived early to spend time with the team. The engineering side is looking really look good, so lets see what happens! Hopefully the weather will be good, with our results being even better!"
