Renault and Mercedes have both been fined $50,000 for separate pitlane incidents during today's Hungarian Grand Prix
There was calamity when the safety car was deployed after debris was dropped on the track by Force India's Tonio Liuzzi.
With many teams bringing in both drivers it was inevitable that there would be chaos, however, it was fortunate that nobody was injured.
In one incident, Renault released Robert Kubica too early, the Pole heading back into the pitlane just as Adrian Sutil was reaching his pit slot. While the German was forced into retirement on the spot, Kubica was able to rejoin the race, however, he too retired shortly after, having served a drive-through for the incident.
In a post-race investigation, the stewards ruled that the Renault crew had unsafely released the Polish driver - a breach of Article 23.1 (j) of the 2010 FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations - and handed the team a $50,000 fine.
In the other incident, Rosberg ground to a halt at the end of the pitlane when the wheel came flying off his Mercedes (above) after a wheel nut had not been tightened.
The stewards, having ruled that the German team had also breached Article 23.1 (j) of the 2010 FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations, handed the Brackley outfit a $50,000 fine also.
