Trident Racing has announced that Edoardo Piscopo will replace Johnny Cecotto Jr at Monza next weekend.
"Trident Racing will be proud to enter the team's home event with an Italian racer," said the team in a brief statement. "It also represents an additional motivation for everybody to push even harder in what's expected like a really demanding but also rewarding weekend. The team is also looking forward to the support of many, many fans.
Piscopo isn't new to Trident Racing, as he entered a collective test at Jerez in 2009. "I'm really happy to make my debut with Trident Racing in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza," said the youngster. "The track is really special to me, as I've always ended up on the podium in junior open-wheel competition. I have to thank my father to have made this possible. My goal is to grow stronger as the weekend keep progressing, and try to make my way to a points spot. It won't be easy because I'm having my GP2 debut during the season's closing stages."
