The difference between the 'artists' impression' of how Yeongam will look in a few years time and the current reality couldn't be more stark. However, officials insist that work on Korea's very own version of Monaco is due to begin next year.
As our video shows, once the work is complete, Yeongam should be mighty impressive, what with its futuristic skyline and harbour. Sadly, at present it looks as though the race circuit has been plonked in the middle of nowhere - which it has.
However, according to the Korea Herald, work on what is being described as a "leisure themed corporate city (ugh!) will begin next year. The project, which is scheduled to cost over £1bn, should be complete by 2021. However, if Shanghai and Istanbul are anything to go by F1 will be preparing to move on by then.
Korea Auto Valley Operation, the organisers of the race, say the plans have now been lodged and work will begin in the second half of next year.
