Brazilian GP Competition: We have a winner

Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg may have lost out at Interlagos, but one Pitpass reader didn't, nor did nine runners-up.

Of the many entries for our recent prediction competition for the season finale in Brazil, only twelve correctly predicted that Jenson Button would lead home Fernando Alonso.

Of those twelve, four correctly predicted that there would be 19 classified finishers, according to the FIA's official results.

In time honoured tradition, those four names went into a hat and the first to emerge was Jess Parsons from Surrey, who wins the fabulous 1:8 scale model of the Mercedes W03 as driven by Michael Schumacher during the 2012 season, kindly provided by our good friends at Amalgam.

With nine runner-up prizes available, at least a few more people have reason to celebrate one of most entertaining races of the season.

The nine runners-up are: Matthew Kidd from Nottingham, John Morris from The Netherlands, Kjetil Tvetene Saeter from Norway, Seth Rosner from New York, Sebastien de La Hamayde from Leicester, Zaid Batan from Lancashire, Jason Lee from NSW Australia and Rudi Enos in Sheffield. We are waiting on the ninth runner-up Ollie Bean (!?!) to get back to us.

Interestingly, the nine runners-up were offered the choice of a 1:12 McLaren MP4-27 nosecone, the Red Bull RB8 version or the Lotus E20, on a first come, first served basis. Interestingly, the Lotus version was everyone's third choice.

Congratulations to our winners and commiserations to those who came so close.
