Formula One Group and FIA agree to agree

In a move typical of the sport the Formula One Group and the FIA have issued a joint statement revealing that they have agreed to agree on a new Concorde Agreement.

As the sport heads into the summer break, a new Concorde Agreement, the contract which commits the teams to race in F1, outlines their commercial terms and sets in stone the regulations as it is also signed by the FIA, has yet to be signed, a fact that in many respects leaves the sport in as state of limbo.

Today, the Formula One Group and the FIA further muddied the waters with a statement that, for many, poses more questions than it answers, after all, if there isn't a problem why can't it be signed-off by all concerned.

The statement reads:

"The Formula 1 Group and the FIA have signed an agreement setting out the framework for implementation of the 2013 Concorde Agreement.

This agreement will come into force upon approval by the respective governing bodies of the signatory parties in the coming weeks.

Further information on this agreement will be available after receipt of such approval."

Curiouser and curiouser but so very typical.
