Sergio Perez will take to the track in a 2023 Ferrari at Imola next month as part of Cadillac's preparations for its 2026 debut.
The Mexican and Valtteri Bottas will form the American team's line-up and understandably there is a need for practice before the team makes its race debut next March.
With no car of its own to test the American outfit is to run a Ferrari SF-23 as part of the TPC programme, thereby allowing its crew vital to carry out vital race simulations before Melbourne.
"We'll have some testing sessions in November," confirmed Perez, according to Motorsport.com. "They'll be very useful because we'll be able to work with the mechanics and engineers to have the whole team ready for the testing program that begins in January, very early in the year, where we'll already be at 100 %.
Since being confirmed by the team the Mexican - who is missing his home race for the first time since it returned to the calendar in 2015 - has spent time at its HQ in Charlotte and the satellite operation at Silverstone, where he has worked with the team's engineers and spent time in the simulator.
Asked his initial impressions, he said: "It's always great to have a team that listens to you, supports you, and values you. That's what every driver dreams of having."
