David Price Racing (DPR) heads to Istanbul this weekend for round eight of the 2007 GP2 championship after the series' traditional three week summer break. After the disappointment of Hungary, the team are looking to bounce back in this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix, with drivers Andy Soucek and Christian Bakkerud.

At the Hungarian round of the GP2 Series, DPR found themselves with only one car running on the final day of racing, with Christian Bakkerud sidelined due to a recurring back problem. Soucek continued with his first visit to the Hungaroring circuit, starting from 12th place in the Sprint race, but disappointingly unable to reach the finish after gearbox problems late in the race.

Speaking of the teams' progress, Team Principal David Price commented; "We had a lot of promise going into the races at Hungary. We had our best qualifying performances from both drivers, which goes to show that as rookie drivers to the GP2 series, they are improving as the season progresses. However Andy was unlucky in the race with the gearbox issue resulting in retirement. He was on for a solid result for the team, which gives us confidence for the next two races in Turkey.

"Christian was unfortunate with his back problem preventing him from racing on the Sunday. It is never easy as a team owner to only have one of your cars out on the grid, but it is probably even harder as a driver to watch everyone line up and not be a part of the race. We look forward to having both of our regular drivers back, and in good health for Turkey.

"Looking ahead to the next race, Istanbul is an impressive facility; due to its long wide straights it makes for good, close, racing out on track. We hope that the speed the drivers showed at the last race will reward us with equally as good qualifying positions, if not better, this weekend. Then we can hopefully score some points during the course of the two races."

The DPR drivers, meanwhile, have been taking advantage of the August break to have some well-deserved relaxation time, whilst continuing their training in preparation for what is always a challenging race weekend in Turkey's very hot conditions.

Soucek is looking forward to visiting the Herman Tilke-designed circuit for the first time and echoed his team principal's optimism: "I am confident that we will have a better race weekend in Turkey. The break has been good to recharge and get ready for the final stage of the season but we need to work hard in practice and qualifying to make up for the retirement disappointment in Hungary. I'm feeling more comfortable in the car and we made a big step forward in terms of set up in the last race too, so even though I'm new to the Turkish circuit, I'm positive we can get a good result."

Bakkerud is also keen to get back into his racing car in Turkey and feels the trapped nerve in his back is definitely on the mend; "We made good progress in Hungary, so when the issue with my back flared up again, I was really disappointed not to be able to take part in the race on the Sunday. I've had treatment since then back in my home town of Denmark, I visited a really good medical team and with their help I'm a lot better. I'm not back to 100% but I'm getting there, the three week break has been a real help, because I needed time to recuperate back to full form. I hope we can go out and get some points at the Turkish Grand Prix this weekend.
