Luca Filippi and Javier Villa have both been handed a 3 place grid penalty for tomorrow's race one grid after failing to sufficiently heed yellow flags during this morning's free practice session in Barcelona.

The Super Nova drivers were both caught out by yellow flags which were brought out by a spin early in the practice session by Alberto Valerio: Villa came through shortly after, but Filippi spun immediately behind his teammate and narrowly avoiding the incident.

Both drivers were called to the stewards' office at the conclusion of the session where they were shown to have failed to slow sufficiently, earning both Super Nova drivers the first penalties of the 2009 season.
