A press release...

NEWS STORY
19/02/2025

The following press release, issued by Motif PR in the wake of last night's F1 75 Live event at the 02, appears to sum up the direction in which the sport is heading.

We present it as received.

Last night, Formula 1 made history with its first-ever season launch at London's O2 Arena. Unveiling the 2025 car liveries while marking F1's 75th anniversary, F1 75 Live brought together all ten teams and drivers for an evening of spectacle and high-energy entertainment. The ground-breaking world premiere event was brought to life by STUFISH Entertainment Architects in collaboration with production partner 1826, alongside creative visionary Brian Burke and DX7 Design. Together, they crafted an unforgettable experience that merged Formula 1's signature speed with the thrill of live theatrical performance.

The event was meticulously designed as a multi-sensory storytelling experience, with each reveal uniquely choreographed to build anticipation and excitement. Renowned for their visionary stage designs for global icons like Beyoncé, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and Sabrina Carpenter, STUFISH reimagined the stage as a long central runway extending into the crowd-evoking the high-speed straightaways of an F1 track. Towering above the stage is the largest LED screen ever used at The O2, stretching across the width of the venue. The screen serves a dual purpose - delivering cinematic visuals that build anticipation for each team's segment.

Hidden beneath the main screen is a garage-style door, which introduces each team's driver for the 2025 season. In the centre of the stage, a mechanical lift system has been incorporated, capable of raising the cars eight meters high adding an element of vertical spectacle. Suspended above it all, a flying LED screen, embedded with dynamic lighting effects, moves fluidly throughout the night-serving as both a visual storytelling canvas and seamlessly lifting away to reveal the next team in an unforgettable sequence of reveals.

"At STUFISH, we are always looking for ways to push the boundaries of live entertainment, and designing the staging for the F1 launch was an exciting challenge-blending the theatricality of a live show with the raw energy of motorsport. With this production, we wanted to bring the thrill of the racetrack into the heart of The O2, immersing audiences from the instant the lights dim to the roar of the engines" - Ray Winkler CEO and Design Director at STUFISH Entertainment Architects.

"We're always excited to get the call from F1 for one of their shows. They love pushing the boundaries and so do we. We're lucky enough to have great creative partners, like StuFish, Brian Burke Creative and DX7 and a great production team on this show and have thoroughly enjoyed producing what's going to be the talked about event of 2025." - Joe Sanchez, CEO of 1826

As the production partner for Formula 1's 75th Anniversary season launch, 1826 played a pivotal role in bringing the event to life, ensuring that the spectacle aligned with F1's evolving vision. Known for their work with artists such as Tyler The Creator and Charli XCX, and brands such as the LA Dodgers, 1826 were tasked with bringing all aspects of the production together. Their mission was to orchestrate and execute a dynamic experience that blended motorsport with entertainment, catering to an ever-expanding and diverse fan-base.

Designed to extend beyond the racetrack, each team's segment is designed as a fully immersive experience. Custom music, live performances, and curated video content transform each reveal into a compelling narrative-celebrating not just the cars, but the teams, their stories, and the passionate fans who drive the sport forward.

By transforming the unveiling of the ten cars into a pop-rock spectacle infused with the electrifying energy of a stadium concert, STUFISH and 1826 have redefined how motorsport is presented to the world. It's a bold statement that Formula 1 is bigger, bolder, and more immersive than ever before.

The fusion of music and sport has become a defining trend, as fans increasingly seek festival-like experiences that go beyond the competition itself. From Formula 1 to the Super Bowl, major sporting events now incorporate world-class musical acts, recognising that music amplifies emotion, enhances storytelling, and deepens fan engagement. As sports continue to attract younger, more diverse audiences, the integration of music helps create shared cultural moments that transcend the event, transforming it into a global spectacle.

Building on their ground-breaking collaboration, the Formula 1 Season Launch marks the second major F1 project for 1826 and STUFISH. Their partnership began in 2023, when they joined forces to create the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix, transforming the event into a spectacular fusion of motorsport, entertainment, and theatrical production. By blending the high-speed adrenaline of F1 with immersive staging, cutting-edge visuals, and live performances, they redefined how the sport is experienced bringing the electrifying energy of Las Vegas to the global stage.

"Funny enough, on Wednesday we received a press release from Silverstone and another on Thursday from Singapore. You'll note a (worrying) common thread.

Northamptonshire, UK - 8:00am, 20 February 2025: Silverstone has today announced the headline acts for its star-studded music line up for the 2025 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, taking place Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th July 2025. Having attracted record crowds of 480,000 last summer, the home of British motorsport is set to go bigger and better when it hosts an eclectic mix of British music heavyweights this year.

The unprecedented four-day line-up will see Silverstone take its music and arts offering to the next level - cementing the British Grand Prix as a summer highlight on both the British sporting and music calendar.

Headlining Thursday's Opening Concert is BRIT Award-winning singer-songwriter, Sam Fender, with chart-topping, multi-award-winning, RAYE taking to the main stage on Friday to perform her first UK outdoor show of 2025.

On Saturday fans can expect pioneering DJ, producer, and electronic music icon, Fatboy Slim to bring his genre-defining beats and high-energy performances, before double Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter, and dance music powerhouse, Becky Hill closes the main stage on Sunday with her anthemic take on modern dance music.

On the announcement of her Formula 1 British Grand Prix performance at Silverstone Becky Hill stated "I can't wait to be back at Silverstone to headline the final night at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. It's going to be a huge weekend of high-energy action on the track and on the stage!"

The support acts for Silverstone's Formula 1 British Grand Prix and further entertainment offering will be announced in the coming weeks.

Silverstone's Chief Commercial Officer Nick Read said: "Over the past few years we have established Silverstone as a world-class venue that attracts the biggest and best artists to deliver unforgettable experiences, and it's an honour to continue that as we announce Sam Fender, RAYE, Fatboy Slim, and Becky Hill as our stellar all-British headliners for the 2025 Formula 1 British Grand Prix.

"Following the incredible success of last year's music offering, we knew we had to raise the bar once again—and we're thrilled to be delivering a lineup packed with homegrown talent at the very top of their game."

Fans flocked to Silverstone's expanded music arena throughout the 2024 British Grand Prix to be entertained by a stellar line up of artists such as Kings of Leon, Stormzy, Pete Tong and Rudimental. For 2025, ticket holders will once again enjoy four gigantic evenings of live music and entertainment at no extra cost.

20 February 2024, Singapore - The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025 will feature Elton John and G-DRAGON at the Padang Stage to complement the thrilling track action at the home of Formula 1 night racing this 3rd to 5th October. Additional tickets have also been released, including for a brand-new Marina Bay Grandstand as well as single-day walkabout tickets.

"We are incredibly excited with how the full entertainment line-up is progressing but could not wait to announce that these superstars will be performing at the Marina Bay Street Circuit this year. Other acts will be unveiled in the coming months to complete the full race weekend entertainment programme," says Adam Firth, Executive Director of Singapore GP Pte Ltd.

Friday 3rd October | G-DRAGON

After a seven-year hiatus, South Korea's global superstar G-DRAGON will be making his much-awaited comeback to Singapore. He will kick off the race weekend on Friday, 3rd October, at the Padang Stage in Zone 4. The fashion icon and trailblazer has been a dominant force in the music scene since his debut with BIGBANG in 2006 and was the first Korean soloist with a Korean-language album to enter the U.S. Billboard 200 with his first EP 'One of a Kind.' The rapper and singer-songwriter released the single "POWER" late last year and recently performed his latest single "HOME SWEET HOME" with BIGBANG bandmates TAEYANG and DAESUNG at the 2024 MAMA Awards, where he made history as the first recipient of the 'Music Visionary of the Year' award. G-DRAGON will release his highly anticipated third studio album, 'Übermensch', on February 25, 2025 - his first full-length solo project in over 11 years.

Sunday 5th October | ELTON JOHN

Two years after the finale of his record breaking 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour, Elton John is set to make a highly anticipated return to the stage for a night to remember. The pop icon will rock the Padang Stage in Zone 4 after the Formula 1 race on Sunday to close out the race weekend. One of the best-selling artists of all time, the style icon and EGOT (Emmy, GRAMMY, Oscar, and Tony Award winner) has redefined pop music with an unparalleled career spanning five decades, selling more than 300 million records worldwide. The British legend has produced beloved hits like "Tiny Dancer", "Your Song", and "Rocket Man" and collaborated with stars including Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Eminem, and Lady Gaga.

Power packed weekend

Race fans are in for a treat as the 2025 Formula 1 season gears up to be a thrilling spectacle, with Lewis Hamilton's debut with Scuderia Ferrari, and five new faces taking on the tricky turns of the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the very first time as Singapore hosts the 18th round of a gruelling 24-round season. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the FIA Formula One World Championship and marks the final season of the current V6 hybrid turbo power unit configuration.

Even more track action is in store from the support races proving their mettle on the streets of Singapore. Expect the ultimate showdown with Porsche Carrera Cup Asia as drivers push their limits in their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in the final rounds of the 2025 season. Singapore will also host the penultimate round of the all-women racing series F1 Academy after its successful debut last year. The second edition will see a new team, Hitech Grand Prix, competing in the 2025 season, expanding the grid to 18 cars and 6 teams.

More tickets released for sale

With less than eight months to go to the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025, demand for tickets is exceptionally high. Many ticket categories are already sold out, and limited availability remains in other select categories.

Due to popular demand, a brand-new Marina Bay Grandstand has been added to the Circuit Park. Situated along the promenade with prime views of the Pit Entry, Pit Straight, as well as the final corners of the street circuit as the cars approach the end of each lap, patrons will also enjoy access to all performance stages throughout the Circuit Park with three-day tickets priced at S$1,498.

Single-day walkabout tickets have also been released, starting from S$148 for a Friday Zone 4 Walkabout ticket.

Fans can also opt for the Zone 1 Walkabout Combination at S$1,108, where they can catch F1 Practice and Qualifying sessions from the Pit Grandstand on Friday and Saturday, and catch the race action from multiple viewing platforms throughout the track with a Premier Walkabout ticket on race day.

Hospitality packages for the Formula 1 Paddock Club™, Sky Suites, The Green Room and Lounge @ Turn 3 are already sold out, with limited availability remaining in shared facilities at The Clubhouse @ Formula 1 Paddock Club, and Twenty3. More options are also now available with newly released hospitality packages at the Singapore Flyer.

Tickets can be purchased from www.singaporegp.sg and via authorised ticketing partners. All tickets provide access to the performances in Zone 4, including the main Padang Stage. A Zone 1 ticket is required to access performances at the Wharf Stage. Patrons will need to ensure that they have a valid ticket on the relevant day of an act's performance. Artist and entertainment programme may be subject to change. Refer to the Singapore GP website for the latest information.

"I thought it was a fun event. Well done by F1.

Aston had the best presentation. Hard to compete against an orchestra playing 007 music.

Was really awesome to see Lewis come on stage in red.

Made me more excited for this season than I was before seeing the event."

"Just for fun, I looked for the word "racing" in this press release, but I couldn't find it. I am old enough to remember when F1 was a racing series, and not a marketing series. Oh, the good old days. "

"Some of the most telling words ever seen on Pitpass:
"We present it as received."
My regret is that, when Domenicali was appointed figurehead for F1, I regarded him as an honest broker. Since then he has swallowed the gold ingots. . . .

By the way, Mr Editor, are you still being hassled over copyright fees on images sent out by teams?"

We all know that every event will not be perfect or please everyone but this was such a catastrophic letdown on so many levels and for so many reasons than all good points already mentioned. Was their true objective to celebrate 75 years of F1 or use it all as a guise to showcase barely new liveries ? Perfect case in point, there was a table of legends that they didn't even talk to..."
