FIA completes review of 2024 cost cap

NEWS STORY
31/10/2025

The FIA has completed its review of compliance with the 2024 F1 financial regulations.

The FIA has confirmed that its Cost Cap Administration (CCA) has now completed its review of the Reporting Documentation in respect of the Reporting Period that ended on 31 December 2024, submitted by each F1 Team that participated in the 2024 F1 season and by each (power unit) manufacturer registered to supply the new generation of engine that will be introduced from 2026.

According to the sport's governing body all the F1 teams and manufacturers gave their full support in providing the required information, the CCA noting that all acted at all times in a spirit of good faith and co-operation throughout the process.

9 team were found in compliance for 2024, though there was a Procedural Breach identified for Aston Martin.

The CCA confirmed that although AMR has been found to be in Procedural Breach, it has not exceeded the Cost Cap level, and the Procedural Breach was of a very minor nature, originated by unpredictable circumstances outside the control of the team. AMR and the FIA have entered an ABA on 29 September 2025 to resolve the matter.

All 5 power unit manufacturers were found in compliance for 2024.

Which begs the question of all that speculation in Mexico that another team had "substantially" breached the cap.

"FIA, There are such things as computers which can help do the sums. This report should have been published in January/February end of March at the latest! "
