Max Verstappen: "The first two races have been a bit more challenging than we would have liked and it was unfortunate that we had to retire the car in China with an ERS cooling issue.

"There is still a lot to do, however, I have a lot of confidence in the Team and they have reviewed these issues and have been working hard to optimise the performance of the car. Heading into Suzuka, this is one of my favourite tracks to race at with lots of high speed corners. There is a lot of history at this circuit for the Team and it is one I always look forward to coming back to. It is nice to also spend a bit of time in Tokyo before heading to Suzuka, so we are looking forward to a couple of days there too."

Isack Hadjar: "I always enjoy coming to Japan, the culture here is so cool. I've been in Tokyo for a few days already, experiencing more of the city, which has been really nice. I'm also looking forward to racing here again. Suzuka is my favourite track on the calendar; it's a real driver's circuit. It will be an interesting challenge with the new regulations, so I'm excited to test myself. Of course, this will be our last race weekend until May, so we want to continue learning about the car and make it count before the break."
